Paean

Every shade of brown, from boot to lip.

I saw her on the subway. I couldn’t not photograph her.

The underside of a thigh on the subway.

A perfect heart-shaped ass, freckled shoulders, and I never saw her from the front.

Sometimes the most distracting thing in a meeting isn’t the agenda.

She caught my eye. I caught her image.

A mother and daughter, competing for my gaze.

A woman on the subway I couldn’t stop looking at.

I couldn’t not look. And I couldn’t not tell you what I saw.

I saw her, and I couldn’t not look.
