How to apologize for failing me

I’m sorry. I know you expected more of me, and I’m disappointed in myself that I failed you. I failed myself as well.

I understand the impact it has on you when I offer you something, when I promise you something, and then fail to deliver. For this reason, it’s important to me not just that, in the future, I avoid putting myself – and you – in this position, but also that I make up to you the disappointment I caused by failing you in this instance.

Therefore, in addition to getting you what I failed to get you as soon as possible – which I honestly estimate to be [insert reasonable, conservative estimate] – I propose to give you one or more of x, y, and/or z, no later than [insert reasonable, conservative estimate] as you might tell me you prefer.

Would that be acceptable to you?

Thank you so much.
