The very first porn I remember seeing was in a friend’s “clubhouse.” Ironically, the magazine was a “Club.” This friend was notable primarily for his insistence that, though his birthday was November 1, his real birthday was October 31, but his mom had had him “pushed back in” so that he wouldn’t have Halloween for a birthday.

This was in fifth or sixth grade; I didn’t know what to make of it, but mainly I was just grossed out.

A short year later, I found my uncle’s abandoned Playboy stash in my grandmother’s house. One by one, I would remove Playboys from his collection and add them to mine, hoping he wouldn’t notice. He lived far away then; I think he probably had forgotten or repressed his stash by then. These magazines affected me differently than Club did: they made my dick (it seems grandiose to refer to my 12-year-old penis as a “cock”) hard. And they made me want more. Somehow, the primary function of porn for me then (and now) wasn’t so much to satisfy any particular hunger as to activate it: I would look at those magazines and be filled with thoughts about what else I wanted to see, what other positions I wanted the women in, what else I wanted to see them wear, or not wear.

Right around then, I also came across “Color Climax” magazine – this, in the stash of a friend’s (French) parents. Three of us boys would sit and thumb through their very European (Danish, to be precise), very foreign, very hardcore porn. This was the first time I saw not just nudity but fucking. And honestly, it squicked me out. My dick didn’t look like those cocks; and the pussies in Playboy didn’t look anything like the pussies in Color Climax. Those were the days of pubic hair and soft focus.

Pussies had lips?

Next up, my porn habit becomes less passive.

  1. Aww, Nancy Drew….who wouldn’t think she was hot? God, I loved watching that show with the Hardy Boys. I know every girls dream was Shawn Cassidy, but I preferred Parker Stevensen. I thought he was smoking hot. 😉

  2. I like sex, but not that keen on porn. I like to do stuff on my own, don’t fancy watching others do their stuff!

  3. It’s interesting you mention the usage of early Playboys as activation rather than fulfillment. To this day I (or we, when we watch together) use porn mostly as activation still.. The wank-off porn habit never appealed to me.

Say something! (I just did....)
