I think anytime one person crosses another’s boundaries — physical, emotional, mental — it can be considered rape. That goes for males and females alike. The thing about emotional rape is that sometimes the crossing of boundaries can happen almost without intent, like with children or with people whom we don’t know very well. It’s less violent, but perhaps more painful for the victim.
