Porn I like

This is the second part in my ongoing (and recurrent) series on my tastes in porn. The first part concerned my enthusiasm for movies of women masturbating to orgasm. I mentioned a few sites that I particularly like (The Life Erotic, I Feel Myself, Digital Desires). In this post, I’ll discuss the sites I like that feature two-or-more-person sex.

Amateur Allure

Probably the longest-standing favorite of mine is Amateur Allure. This site is incredibly simple in its premise, and its execution: a beautiful woman, typically made up more than I would like, but not quite garishly, and dressed in a sort of approximation of glamorous – a shiny dress, usually – chats with Thomas, the always invisible (but for his cock and his legs) host of the site. Typically, she confesses this is the first time she’s done anything like this; yes, she knows what happens on the web site (which he typically seeks to have her confirm, in her own words – sucking, swallowing, fucking); and yes, she’s a little nervous, but also excited, thank you very much.

The women are almost all white, almost all somewhere between 18 and 25, and almost all feature natural good looks, over-augmented by makeup. The aesthetic of the web site – fancy dresses and make-up – does nothing for me. And if I had my druthers, there’d be much more variety, both in terms of the physical types represented (I’d love to see older women, a more ethnically diverse crowd) and in terms of the clothing and make-up (jeans would be nice? a t-shirt? sweater? no make-up? a little lip gloss instead of lipstick?). But…

But the basic gist of the site – hot chick wants to give head, and does so, and also gets fucked along the way, often without ever fully removing her clothes? That’s pretty fucking hot to me, and I really like it.

Thomas seems to particularly enjoy seeing his semen in the mouths of the women, generally having them smile and demonstrate their mouthful of cum for the camera, but by then, I’m long-gone. The truth is, I actually most enjoy the very beginning of the video – the part where the woman transitions from being a sexy, clothed woman to having a cock in her mouth. All the rest? I could do without.

Thomas clearly takes pride in his lighting and camerawork, which manage to make everyone’s eyes look bright and gorgeous, their smiles bright and toothy. And he has an almost industrial approach to the whole thing, keeping everything constant except the woman, which is… interesting, I guess. If you don’t like the formula I described, don’t bother. And if you get bored by the precise same encounter, over and over, except with different women, don’t bother. (Incidentally, he occasionally throws in a lame role-play, in which a woman pretends to be a real estate agent or some such, but even these are all identical in their relationship to the norm – a sort of winking,  poorly acted substitute.)

Thomas adds a woman a week. The layout is clean. There is no search functionality whatsoever. And if you’re a keyboard surfer (I rarely touch my mouse, preferring to use the keys to navigate whenever possible), you’ll find the website frustrating.

A note: there used to be a site called “California Pimp” that was awful – just awful. It’s pretense was similar, but with an overlay of deception. The idea was, the guy advertised for “calendar models.” When women showed up, he would gradually break it to them that the audition would consist of a blowjob. And, of course, there was no calendar. Or worse, there was a calendar – a single page of his website that featured the most spartan monthly calendar imaginable. With no pictures of women or anything, no utility, nothing. Just a “Fuck YOU if you say my web site doesn’t have a calendar on it” calendar. The whole thing was awful, exploitative, deceptive, miserable.

And it turned me on something fierce.

I’m not proud of it, but it really touched something in me: not at all the deception. (And to be clear, I’m not certain that there really was deception, that in fact, the illusion of deception itself wasn’t part of the artifice.) No, what touched me was the transition that the women made from being affirmatively uninterested to being enthusiastic fellatrices. I suppose this has a lot to do with some of my pathogenic beliefs about women’s relationship to sex, to sex with me. But it was compelling. And when I first discovered the site (I’m guessing it was nine or ten years ago), I watched it compulsively, devouring every video hungrily. And then, for days after, I walked the streets, imagining just about every woman I encountered as a performer on the site. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a site that so thoroughly resonated for me. And grossed me out, at the same time. Desire’s like that, eh?

(Incidentally – I just looked on line, and found that there’s a web site at www.californiapimp.com that approximates the original. God damn – I may just have to get a membership. But the site looks about like it did in 2000, and I can’t find any reviews of it more recent than this one. I’m not sure I’m prepared to shell out a penny without better evidence of what they’re selling me today.)

X-Art and SexArt

Some months ago, I wrote a little paean to X-Art and Sex Art after I discovered them. Since then, I’ve learned the term “glam-core” to describe the sort of porn they purvey: beautiful, natural women and men, with a minimum of make-up, in well shot, well produced vignettes featuring little or no pretense of narrative. They update every other day or so, and it’s invariably delicious. But I must confess, I’ve grown a little fatigued of each.

X-Art’s formula is bare-bones: either photographs or videos, either of solo women or couples (or, occasionally, of multiples), typically in beautiful/glamorous settings. The couples generally appear to be having bona fide fun. The orgasms look real (to me). There often appears to be some genuine chemistry between the performers. And yet, there’s something almost sterile, cold, about the site. Partly, this is because there’s absolutely no dialogue, ever. No one ever speaks. (I guess that means we don’t have to know everyone’s Russian, or something.) But that has a cost for me. As much as I’ve seen many movies featuring the models whose bodies I most enjoy, whose sucking or fucking I most like watching, I don’t ever get the sense that I know them, even slightly. And this is a problem for me. Part of what I really like about Amateur Allure is the idea (even if it is just a pretense) that I’m getting to know the woman just a little before she sinks to her knees. And it’s why I really loved California Pimp.

Sex-Art is a little more varied – they have interviews with their models, and highly produced narrative sex scenes, and even series. I wrote about them here. Their stuff, like X-Art’s, is highly produced, and the women and the men are all beautiful. But again, there’s something sterile, cold, about the over-production, about the sense in which everything feels so… I don’t know, inauthentic?

A footnote

Make Love Not Porn: These people have a lot of nerve. I think – I think – that they have good stuff. It’s basically a do-it-ourselves porn site, with content provided by you and me, and then sold, for $5 or so a pop. But they have a pretty basic problem as far as I’m concerned. There’s just no way to know what you’re getting up front. Their “sample content” is negligible, and the whole pricing structure – you pay to watch things before you know what you’ll see – is messed up. This site is crying out for some sort of either trial membership or free teaser section or some such. Until then? I’ll just assume that I might be missing out. If you want to set me straight, please do….

  1. Thank you for the mention! I assume you have already joined MLNPTV as a member? (I ask only because we’re in invitation-only beta to real-world test while we build – we hope to be able to open the site up publicly by the end of the year if all goes well.) Just to clarify – our business model is revenue-sharing, so that all our contributing #makelovenotpornstars get 50% of what their videos earn, as I explain in my launch blog post here:

    http://talkabout.makelovenotporn.tv/post/29383253943/helloworld

We ask all our contributors to create intro videos as ‘trailers’ for their #realworldsex videos, and most of them have. These are free to access (you just click on ‘Peek’ under each video) and contributors can create whatever they want; some talk direct to camera and explain why they made their video and what it depicts, others cut together teasers/trailers and talk together over the top reminiscing about the context, what they were feeling etc.

We are 12 weeks old and currently have over 112,000 people signed up on our beta waiting list – we’re inviting people in in phased batches so we can fix all user glitches and hiccups before inviting in the next batch. If you aren’t already a member and would like to be fast-tracked into beta, do email [email protected] and I’ll send you an invite 🙂
